AIIMS Delhi extends PhD January 2026 registration deadline, check revised schedule

New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has extended the last date for online registration for admission to its PhD programmes for the January 2026 session. As per the official notification issued by the AIIMS Examination Section, eligible candidates can now submit their applications till February 6, 2026 (up to 5:00 PM).

According to the revised schedule, the status of submitted applications, including reasons for rejection if any, will be displayed on the AIIMS website on February 11, 2026. The admit cards for the PhD entrance examination will be released on February 14, 2026.

The AIIMS PhD entrance examination is scheduled to be conducted on February 17, 2026, while the result is expected to be declared on February 26, 2026 (tentatively). Candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for departmental assessment and interviews, which are scheduled to be held on March 5 and 6, 2026.

The final list of selected candidates will be announced on March 13, 2026. Candidates who are offered admission must complete the joining formalities and report to the institute by March 31, 2026.

The extension of the registration deadline provides additional time for aspirants to complete their application process and submit the required documents. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official AIIMS website for further updates and instructions related to the PhD admission process.
